A
self-made man who worked himself through school. He was a police
officer at the Western Police District ("Manila's Finest) while
pursuing Bachelor of Laws at the University of the Philippines.
After graduating in 1970, he joined a maritime and admiralty law
firm solely representing P & I Clubs in the Philippines at that
time. Together with other promising young lawyers in that firm,
Atty. Pete eventually ventured on establishing his own firm, and
steadily built his impeccable reputation as a prominent international
maritime and admiralty lawyer in representing top marine insurance
companies in the Philippines. His sharp negotiating skills gained
Atty. Pete's reputation for settling cases. He handles complex high
conflict cases with uncanny talent and ease. On 15 July 1985, Atty.
Pete found Linsangan Law Office and worked his way to the top in
representing plaintiffs in cargo claims; and seafarers and their
families in crew claims. After Atty. Gerry and Atty. Glen joined
the firm in 1993 and 1997, respectively, they launched Linsangan
Linsangan & Linsangan Law Offices as it is known today. On 18
January 2003, Atty. Pete formally inaugurated the Linsangan Admiralty
Building as a testimony to his continued success in his law practice.
Aside from providing free legal assistance at the office for walk-in
and calling claimants, Atty. Pete embarked on radio broadcasting
in 1997 to help more Filipinos in need of legal advice and assistance
through the program entitled "Punto Por Punto" hosted
by Mr. Jun Obrero of DWBL (1242 AM). In 2005, Atty. Pete launched
another one-hour radio program with the same goal but this time
captioned "Sagot Ka Ni Atty. Linsangan" heard every Saturday
at 11:00 in the morning over DZAR (1026 AM). Mr. Tony Cuevas was
designated as anchorman. Our Atty. Gerry and other associate lawyers
take turns in co-hosting the said radio program. Atty. Pete also
publishes a weekly newspaper article entitled "Maritime Law"
wherein he discusses issues relevant to the rights and interests
of Filipino seafarers and their families. His goal is to educate
as many listeners and readers as possible to the end that no callous
employer, person or entity may take undue advantage of their misfortune
and measly knowledge of their legal rights. So that those who have
less in life may have more in law. |
